THE TEACHERS at Mango Dance Studio are teachers as well as performers. In the event a teacher becomes unavailable due to illness or a show/performance, another teacher of a similar standard will act as a substitute.

BOLLYWOOD CHOREOGRAPHER / TEACHER / PROFESSIONAL DANCER:

Farah Shah is a Professional Choreographer/Dancer//Teacher with over 30 years experience in the dance industry. 

Farah was the Official Choreographer for the MTV Awards Australia for Wyclef and Dizzy Rasal which broadcasted worldwide in front of millions of viewers in the U.SA, U.K and Europe.  She also Choreographed for "So You Think You Can Dance" Australia click here, where she personally created  a Bollywood Hip hop piece for Kate and Graeme.

She has Choreographed 4 TV commercials for SONY INDIA on MAX 1, MAX 2, SAB 1, SAB 2 airing on Indian TV as well as a Commercial for UNCLE BEN airing in the UK and Ireland.

Farah was a Choreographic adviser for "Dancing with the Stars - Jhalak Dhikla Jaa" by the BBC and Sony India. Farah was hired to define the concept and fuse Bollywood with Ballroom.

Formally trained full-time in Jazz Ballet, Street Funk, Hip Hop, Street Locking, Contemporary and Classical ballet at Bodenweiser Dance Centre (2yrs Full-time in Sydney), Pineapple Dance Studio (Full-time in London), Harbourside Dance Centre (Full-time in Vancouver), and 15 years at Sydney Dance Company open classes.

Farah has worked with choreographers for Janet Jackson, Madonna, Pink, Missy Elliot, UK artists and Musicals. Farah has also worked as a commercial dancer in "Son of Mask" - Hollywood Movie, Bollywood Movie "Khulay Aasman Ka Neeche", The MTV Awards (Dancer for Chingy, Simple Plan, Grinspoon- Lead Dancer),  L&M Cigarette Commercial, Film Commercials, Music Video Clips, Diva Awards,  Sydney 2000 Olympics, "Chess" the Musical, Mardi Gras Opening,  Sydney Para-Olympics Opening Ceremony and more. 

She has also Choreographed and Designed Bollywood Corporate shows for: PRICE WATERHOUSE, MITSUBISHI, FANTASTIC FURNITURE, THAI AIRWAYS, CLAYTON UTZ LAWYERS, WESTPAC, ORACLE, MACQUARIE BANK,  HOUSING TRUST AUSTRALIA, SKILLSEARCH COMPUTING, VISY RECYCLING, CAFE SYDNEY, HIP HOP Hair Launch for ICARUS Hair products at venues such as: Luna Park, Fairmont Resort, Fox Studios, Government House, Cafe Sydney and Crown Casino !!!

Having Indian and Persian heritage, Farah launched Sydney's First Bollywood Dance classes in early 2004. Her Bollywood classes and herself have been featured on The Today Show, Australian Idol, Sydney Getaway, , Sydney weekender, Mondo Thingo, ABC - Asian Focus, SBS, Kerry-Anne Show, Ch9 Overhaul, Sydney Telegraph, SMH, 9to5, Dance Network and DNA Newspaper in Mumbai !!

Raghav Handa

Raghav is a professional dancer trained in Contemporary Dance and has been invited to participate in classes with Bangarra Dance Theatre, The Dance Theatre of Ireland and more...

Farah first met Raghav whilst auditioning dancers for the SONY INDIA commercial. He was soon snapped up as a member of Bollywood SPICEŠ - the professional troupe choreographed and run by Farah Shah for Corporate and Commercial events.

Raghav has danced in UNCLE BEN TV commercial, the Australian MTV awards opening with Wyclef Jean, 4 years of Bollywood Corporate Events and the Today show as one of Farah Shahs dancers under Mango Dance Productions.

As a teacher in Contemporary Dance, his talent, bubbly and effervesent personality and classical indian choreography skills shone out to Farah as she approached Raghav to teach Bollywood Dance classes for Mango Dance Studio.

 
Smrit Narang

Smrit began dancing as a hobby when she was five years old. Her first dance class was Kathak dancing at age seven, where she learned the basics of this Indian classical style for 2 years. Here onwards, she took classes to train in various dance techniques (jazz, hip hop, and contemporary dance).

Smrit has choreographed routines for herself and other performers since the age of 14, with her expertise lying in Bollywood dancing. She has mastered the art of Bollywood dancing and has immense experience in performing and choreographing classical and funky routines for children and adults.

Her talent and passion for dancing makes her a dedicated performer and teacher alike.

 
Dharshani Goonetilleke

Dharshani began Farah Shah's Bollywood Dance Classes in 2007 at Mango Dance Studio. Her natural flare, energy and ability for Bollywood stood out to Farah immediately. Over years to come, she trained under the guidance of Farah until she achieved Intermediate level.

Dharsha was then asked to teach for Mango Dance Studio and undertook our Bollywood teacher training program written and conducted by Farah Shah.

Dharsha teaches the Bollywood Level 1 and Baby Bollywood students. She is extremely popular with her students and has choreographed numerous routines for Mango shows. Dharsha is now part of Bollywood SPICEŠ - the professional troupe choreographed and run by Farah Shah for Corporate and Commercial events.

Dharsha has performed at Mango shows, The Holi Festival @ Darling Harbour, Bollywood Film Festival @ Cinema Paris, The Mind Body Spirit Festival, The Australian Dance Festival as part of Mango Dance Productions.

 
Khyati Pal

Born in Delhi, India - Khyati has trained in Classical Indian dance and lives and breathes Bollywod movies and songs.

Dancing and performing Bollywood routines has been part of Khyati's upbringing. Winner of Miss Teen India, Khyati set for the shores of Australia.

Khyati joined Mango Dance in the capacity of Events Manager and was recruited as a dancer by Farah shah for the Uncle Ben TV commercial.

Khyati's skills as a teacher shone and she was invited to teach for Mango Dance Studio under the guidance of Farah Shah.

Khyati's students have performed at the Australian Dance Festival, Opening for Bollywood Movie Roadside Romeo @ Cinema Paris, The Mind Body Spirit Festival, The north Sydney Noodle Markets and The City of Sydney Eistedfod.

 
Navpreet Kanwar

Navpreet began Farah Shah's Bollywood Dance Classes before Mango Dance Studio in 2004. She followed Farah and became one of her regular students at Mango Dance Studio. Over years to come, she trained under the guidance of Farah until she achieved Intermediate level.

Navpreets flare, grace and commitment shone out to Farah and she was approached to audition for Bollywood SPICEŠ - the professional troupe choreographed and run by Farah Shah for Corporate and Commercial events.

Navpreet has performed at Mango shows, The Holi Festival @ Darling Harbour, Bollywood film Festival @ Cinema Paris, The Mind Body Spirit Festival, Corporate shows, Weddings and Australia Day @ Darling Harbour as part of Mango Dance Productions.

Navpreet has recently achieved teacher status and will be undertaking our Bollywood teacher training program written and conducted by Farah Shah.
